The Luke Windholtz Story
2009: Started indoor season with a mile run third place finish (4:37.78) at the MSU Alumni…place sixth at the UW-River Falls in the 800m (1:58.56)…member of the 4x400m relay placing eighth (3:28.26) and the distance medley placing seventh (11:07.15) at the NSIC Indoor Championships…outdoor season highlight was a sixth place finish in the 400m (52.11) at the UMD Triangular…member of the 4x400m relay at the NSIC Outdoor finishing sixth (3:24.73).
High School: 2008 graduate of South St. Paul High School…coached by Ryan Key, Randy Bjorklund, and Manuel Spriegl…won two letters in cross country and was a two-time MVP for the Packers…garnered four letters in track & field, earning three MVP awards and was a three-time All-Conference honoree…also lettered on time in football.
Personal: Son of Martin and Barbara Windholz of South St. Paul…lists Ryan Key as the person with the greatest influence on his athletic career…says his greatest sports experience was receiving two All-Conference awards in the 800m and 4x400m as a senior…undeclared on a major.
