The Amber Schueler Story


2008: Named to Outdoor and Indoor NCC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll…red-shirted after lower back injury…

2007: Ran the 100-meter and 200-meter, and competed in the long jump at the NCC outdoor championships…finished 14th in the long jump with mark of 16’¼”…at St. Thomas Invite grabbed second place finish in the 200-meter with season best time of 26.67 and pair of fourth place marks in the 400-meter hurdles (1:13.77) and long jump (16’7”)…at Drake Alternative garnered first win of the season with first place mark in the 100-meter (13.04)…at Bison Classic recorded two season bests with NCC Honor Roll 13.02 100-meter and 16’9½“ long jump, finished sixth and ninth respectively.

2006: During the indoor season she made career best marks in the long jump and short sprint events and became a valuable member of the 4 x 400m relay…at the NCC Championships, she competed in the long jump, 60 and 200m dashes and the 4 x 400m relay…began her 400m hurdle career with a victory at the Bison Open in April, and competed in several relays at the Drake Relays…at the Outdoor NCC Championships, Schueler placed sixth in the 4 x 100, seventh in the 4 x 400 and competed in the 100m, long jump and 400m hurdles.

High School: 2004 graduate of Glencoe-Silver Lake High School…coached by Jim Waters…named outstanding senior female athletes in 2004…three-sport athlete who garnered four letters on the track…three time All-Conference performer who holds school records in the 4x100, 4x200, and 300 hurdles…a team captain, was a member of the state class A third place 4x100 meter relay team, and was a 2001 All-State honoree…won four letters in gymnastics and was a team captain…named most consistent, All-Conference, and All-State in 2004…was also voted three time Most Improved…three time letter winner and captain on the tennis court where she played number one doubles.

Personal: Daughter of Scott and Val Schueler of Glencoe, Minnesota…lists her parents as the people with the biggest influence on her career…Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning are favorite sports personalities…greatest sports thrill was running and winning the 4x400 meter relay in the pouring rain at North Dakota State…member of the dean’s list and SCSU student-athlete honor roll…when not competing enjoys rollerblading, football and spending time with her friends…majoring in marketing with a minor in mass communication.
