The Paula Marozas Story
2009 Track: Indoor season eighth place finish in mile run (5:22.64) at UW-River Fall…earned fifth place in 1000 meter run at NSIC Championships (3:05.40)…Outdoor season placed 4th in 3000 meter run (10:48.565) at the DII Challenge… two- fifth place finishes: Gustavus 1500 meter run (5:07.63) and UMD Triangular 800 meter (2:28.66)…sixth in 1500 meter (5:08.86) at UWRF…NSIC Championship tenth place mark in 1500 meter run (5:03.16)…named to All-NSIC Academic Team.
2008 XC: Sophomore season...Marozas competed in all but one race last season and was a member of the Huskies regional squad…placed 59th overall at the NSIC Championships with a time of 25:42.10…ran her best race of the season at the Saint John’s Open on Sept. 12, 2008 (25:02).
2008 Track: Earned top spot in 800-meter (2:31.15) at SCSU Open…part of school record holding distance medley team that ran a 12:54.04 at the Husky Open…posted fifth place mark at Parent’s Day meet (3:09.06)…finished eighth in 800-meter (2:30.82) at indoor-season opening Northwest Open…posted a time of 5.33.99 in the mile at the Jack Johnson Minnesota Classic…outdoor season began with third place in the 5000-meter (21:17.80) at Minnesota-Morris…earned sixth place mark in 1500-meter (5:05.36) at Tommie Twilight meet…other finish in 1500-meter was a 5:19.44 mark at the Kip Janvrin Open…placed 18th in 3000-meter (11:30.59) at the NCC Championships.
2007 XC: First year…could always be found among the top three Huskies at the finish line…closed season with a personal best in the 6K at the North Central Region championship finishing 118th in 24:32.70…kick started season at the Ron Pynn Invite on 9/14 with a 52nd place finish in 21:49…at the Roy Griak Invite on 9/29 placed 155th finished the 6K in 26:54.60…placed 18th at the 4K Minnesota State Open in 10/6 crossing the line at 17:54…at the NCC Championships in Duluth on 10/20 earned a 53rd place tally in the 6K with a time of 25:15.00.
High School: 2006 graduate of Andover High School… two time letter winner and captain of the track & field team…recipient of the coaches’ award on the cross country team…two time letter winner on the soccer team and also lettered once in weight training...four time academic letter winner.
Personal: Daughter of Grant Marozas of Rochester Minnesota, and Catherine Marozas of Andover, Minnesota…list her greatest sports thrill as her last cross country race where she set a new personal record by 45 seconds…double major in Math and Athletic Training.
