The Nick Nellis Story
2009: Started indoor season with a seventh place finish in the heptathlon (3491)…finished sixth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.53) at the SCSU Open… outdoor season highlights include a fourth place pole vault (13-1.50) and third place javelin (144-11) at the DII Challenge…earned a fifth place mark in the javelin (129-10) at the UMD Triangular…competed in the NSIC Outdoor Championships in the javelin and decathlon events.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Waupaca (Wis.) High School…coached by Neil Sternweis…won four letters for the track team as an All-Conference pole vaulter…also earned three letters in football and was an All-State Division 3 Linebacker.
Personal: The son of Michael and Sonja Nellis…most memorable sporting experience is winning the state football title at Camp Randall Stadium…enjoys snowboarding in his spare time…a computer engineering major.
