The Nichelle Rubash Story

2009 Track: Indoor distance medley relay team set school record (12:44.92)…two first-place 1000 meter finish (3:16.09) and (3:16.66)… second place mark at Minnesota Open in high jump (5-01.25)…three fourth-place finishes in high jump event (5-01) UW-River Falls, (4-11.75) SCSU Open and (4-11) at the Beaver Classic…distance medley relay team placed third at NSIC Indoor Championships…started off outdoor season with first place high jump (5-1) finish at UWRF…took third at Gustavus in high jump (4-11)…earned first in high jump (5-03.00) at UMD Triangular… five top-ten finishes…placed fourth in NSIC Outoor Championship high jump (5-01.74).

2008 XC: First year...had a solid rookie year, running in all six races in 2008 with her best time of the year coming at the North Central Regionals (25:03.8)….placed 74th overall at the NSIC Championships (26:14.65).

High School: 2008 graduate of Mauston High School…coached by Bill DeVoe…three sport athlete and four-time letter winner in cross country…twice was named MVP for her four-time conference championship team…four-time state meet qualifier, and twice a section champion…also tallied four letters in track & field where she was a three-year state meet qualifier in the high jump, taking third as a junior…four times was named first team All-Conference and eight times was named second team All-Conference…also a basketball letter winner…graduated in the top-15 of her high school class.

Personal: Daughter of Charles and Terry Rubash of New Lisbon…says her father has had the greatest influence on her career…says taking third at the state track & field in the high jump was her greatest sports thrill…also a member of the SCSU track & field team…sister Keely is also a first year on the SCSU track & field and cross country teams…majoring in pre-dentistry.
