The Marcus Jenkins Story

2009: Started indoor season with 60 hurdles first place (8.74) finish at the MSU Alumni…two top three finishes at the Beaver Classic in 55-meter dash (4th / 6.77) and 55 hurdles (3rd / 7.98)…took first place in 50 hurdles (7.90) at UW-River Falls…at SCSU Open placed first in 60 hurdles (8.56) and fourth in 60 dash (7.22)…at NSIC indoor placed third in 55 hurdle (7.88)…second place outdoor UWRF finish in 110 hurdle (15.43)…competed at DII Challenge finishing third in 110 hurdles (15.422)…two top finishes in 110 hurdles (15.15, 15.29)…UMD Triangular third finish mark (15.36) in 110 hurdles…NSIC Outdoor Championship 110 hurdles sixth place finish and second 4x100 meter relay (41.27).

2008: Finished sixth (15.76) in the 110-hurdles at the NCC Outdoor Championships…

2007: At NCC outdoor championships finished fifth in the 110 hurdles (15.55) and eighth in the 100-meter (11.18)…posted season best and sixth best NCC time in 110-meter hurdles (15.35), finishing second at the Cobber Invite…season best effort in 100-meter came in fifth place finish (11.36) at the Drake Alternative which was the 10th best time in the NCC last season…also fifth in 110 hurdles (15.60) at Drake…at NCC indoor championships finished fourth in the 60-meter (6.98)…during indoor season at MSU open ran 60-meter hurdles in 8.80, good enough for 11th in the NCC…garnered third place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (8.55) at the Minnesota Snow Shoe Open…at DQ Blizzard Invite posted second place time in the 60-meter hurdles (8.52).

2006: Saw limited competition in 2005-06 indoor before being injured…red-shirted the outdoor season.

High School: 2005 graduate of Long Branch High School in New Jersey…seven-time letter winner in indoor and outdoor track…three-time letter winner in football…All-Shore Academic in 2004…All-State and All-Shore honors in track and field.

Personal: Son of Al and Deborah Opuswugu of Brooklyn Park...defensive back on the Husky football team…majoring in pre-business with a coaching minor.
