The Heather Miller Story

2009: Outstanding indoor season…won first All-American honor in long jump (18-5)…second All-American finish placing fifth in triple jump (38-05.50)… set three school records in pentathlon event (3719 pts), 4x400 relay (3:58.24) and long jump (19-02)…NSIC Championships with a top finishes in the 55-meter hurdles (8.25), pentathlon (3719) and triple jump events (39-00.50)…NSIC Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Second Team (long Jump)…competed in three NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship events with best showing in triple jump (5th / 38-05.50)…outdoor season tallied personal best in heptathlon with 5165 pts… named NSIC Outdoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Year and High Point Performer… All-NSIC Academic Team…set outdoor season school record in triple jump (40-07.75)…top finishes at the NSIC Outdoor Champions in heptathlon (4881, NSIC record), 100-meter hurdles (14.71) and triple jump 39-11.25…earned two All-American titles at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the heptathlon and triple jump events.

2008: Earned spot on Outdoor NCC Academic Honor Roll...did not participate in either the indoor or outdoor season.

2007: NCC runner-up in both the long and triple jump…in season’s final meet had best performance in the triple jump with 37’9½” mark, and notched a 17’8” mark in long jump to claim a pair of silver medals…season best long jump came earlier in the season with 18’3” jump for a first place finish at the Drake Alternative, mark was also second best in the NCC last season…at the St. Thomas Invite recorded two firsts with 17’3½” long jump and 35’10” triple jump, triple jump mark was ninth best in the NCC…named to the NCC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.

2006: Joined the track and field team during the outdoor season…competed as a member of several relays at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa...at the Outdoor NCC Championships, she placed sixth in the 4 x 100m relay, seventh in the long jump and 4 x 400m relay, and 12th in the triple jump…Miller is also a member of the Husky Women’s Basketball team that made it to the NCAA Division II Final Four in 2006.

High School: 2005 graduate of Columbus High School…three-year letter winner in track…named team MVP twice…holds school records for triple jump, long jump, and 1600 meter relay…three-year letter winner in basketball…received All-Conference accolades two times…named All-State Honorable Mention…was named her conference’s Player of the Year her senior year…helped lead her team to three consecutive conference championships and two regional championships…was a member of the State Championship team her sophomore year…four-year letter winner in cross country, where she was named All-Conference twice.

Personal: Daughter of Gary and Michelle Miller of Sun Prairie, Wis.…was treasurer of Student Council for four years…NHS secretary…WIAA Scholar Athlete…graduated in the top ten of her class…majoring in nursing.
