TENNIS: NCAA Men's First Round - WNMU Defeats MSU in NCAA Opener

Sartell, Minn. - Western New Mexico (14-11) gained a first round 5-0 win over Minnesota State University (6-10) in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Division II Central Regional tournament, which was played at the Sartell High School Tennis Complex on Friday, May 8.
The victory allows the Mustangs to advance to the second round match against host St. Cloud State (26-2) on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. The match will be played at the Sartell High School Tennis Center. The winner of this match on May 9 will advance to the NCAA Division II men's tennis finals, which will be held on May 13-16 in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Listed below are the complete match results between Western New Mexico and Minnesota State. WNMU won all three doubles matches and collected wins at third and fifth singles before play was halted since the Mustangs had clinched the match.
