WOMEN'S TENNIS: Huskies Drop 5-4 Decision at Gold's Gym

Sartell, MN.- The St. Cloud State University women’s tennis team suffered a closely contested loss by a score of 5-4 against the University of Nebraska-Kearney on March 16 at Gold's Gym in Sartell. With the setback, the Huskies move to a 9-8 record on the season.
SCSU started by only capitalizing on #3 during doubles competition. The duo of Kayla Lenz and Tanya Halloran documented leadership and finished with a score of 8-3 over Nebraska-Kearney.
The Huskies were also enabled by more success during singles. SCSU was guided with victories by Jacque Doll (#1), Kelly Freese (#3) and Kayla Lenz (#4). At #1 singles, Jacque Doll finished with a score of 7-6 (10-8), 6-2. Kelly Freese notched a commanding triumph over the Lopers at #3, by a count of 6-2, 6-0. To round out singles for the Huskies, Kayla Lenz posted a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 win at #4.
The SCSU women will continue its season on March 20, with a match against Concordia College. The showdown will be played at the Gold’s Gym Tennis Center in Sartell starting at 2 p.m. Complete match results against the University of Nebraska-Kearney are listed below:
