WOMEN'S TENNIS: Huskies Fall to Division I Rival Seton Hall

Orlando, FL.- The St. Cloud State University women’s tennis team suffered an 1-8 loss against NCAA Division 1 powerhouse Seton Hall University on March 13. The match was the final contest for the Huskies on their traditional spring break in Orlando. With the defeat the women move to 9-7 on the season and completed spring break with a record of 3-3.
The Huskies found a beam of shinning light in singles with a victory by Tanya Halloran at #6 with a score of 2-6, 6-4, (10-7).
The SCSU women also battled in closely contested matches during doubles competition. The #2 doubles team of Dawn Olsen and Kristie Eull narrowly missed a victory by a score of 7-9. At #3 doubles, the duo of Kayla Lenz and Samantha Boushek couldn’t overcome Seton Hall and lost by a score of 6-8.
The Huskies will have a short break and continue competition on March 16 against the University of Nebraska-Kearney. The match is slated to start at 2:30 with the women playing first and the men competing shortly after. The match will be played at the Gold’s Gym Tennis Center in Sartell.
