The Jordan VanEgeren Story
2009-10: VanEgeren had individual best times in the 50-freestyle (0:25.04) and the 100-freestyle (0:56.62) for season highlights.
2008-09: First year … appeared in 10 meets during the season … saw the most time in the 50 free, and 100 and 200 breast … also competed in all five relay events, which included her first career win as a member of the 200 free relay (1:40.18) at the Carleton MiniInvite on Jan. 24 … swam to second place honors in the 200 medley relay (1:50.24) on Nov. 15 against Division I competition at UW-Green Bay … best mark in the 200 breast came in the season opening meet on Oct. 17 and was a 2:27.60 tally … set season highs in the 50 free (25.14) and the 100 breast (1:08.98) at the Northern Sun Championships Feb. 18-21 … competed at least once in eight different individual races in 2008-09.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2008 graduate of Bay Port High School…coached by Jim Schilz…spent six season’s as a varsity swimmer for the BPHS Pirates, winning four conference titles and three section championships…earned All-Conference honors in the 200 medley relay while earning All-Conference, All-State and All-American honors in the 200 free relay…member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Steve and Ann VanEgeren of Green Bay…lists her high school coach, Jim Schilz as the person with the greatest influence on her athletic career…lists her greatest sports thrill as placing second at the section championships her junior year when she was seated sixth before the race…majoring in international business with a minor in French.
