The William Anzion Story
2010-11: Competed in four events for the Huskies during his junior season, including the 200 free, 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free…recorded personal best time of the season in the 1650 free of 17:42.05 at the 2011 Midwestern Collegiate Championships in February…posted top times of 1:53.06 in the 200 free, 5:00.09 in the 500 free and 10:21.35 in the 1000 free….ranked third on the Husky squad in 1000 free and fifth in the 1650 free.
2009-10: Anzion highlighted his season with a 100-freestroke time of 0:50.89 seconds and a 500-free time of 5:00.01.
2008-09: First year … competed in nine meets throughout the season … swam the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, and 100 fly, along with each relay … had a career day at the Minnesota Challenge on Feb. 6 & 7 set career highs in the 50 free (23.98), 100 free (52.80), and the 100 fly (58.76) … career best mark in the 200 free (1:57.82) came on Dec. 6 at the Carthage Invite.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2008 graduate of Henry-Sibley High School…lettered five times in swimming for the Warriors…was a two-year team captain and a Minnesota State Tournament participant…describes his greatest sports thrill as winning a close race in a meet to win it…coached by Greg Schmidt…
PERSONAL: Son of Tad and Susan Anzion of Mendota Heights, Minn. …says his old coach Jim Anderson has had the greatest influence on his career…enjoys scuba diving and flying planes.
