The Shalon Rothstein Story
2010-11: Posted All-American Honorable Mention status in both the 100 breast (1:05.12-14th) and 200 breast (2:21.52-13th) at the 2011 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships…charted a conference title in the 200 breast at the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Championships…recorded national B-cut times in the 100 breast (1:05.17), 200 breast (2:20.37) and 200 IM (5:11.45)…a College Swimming Coaches Association of American Academic All-American… totaled three individual first place finishes in 2010-11…led the Husky squad with top times in the 100 breast (1:04.81) and 200 breast (2:20.37).
2009-10: Albany native Shalon Rothstein completed her rookie collegiate stint at the 2010 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships on March 10-13 in Canton, Ohio...the St. Cloud State University first year swimmer tabbed All-American honors in the 100 breast, touching the wall in 1:04.70, good for an 8th place mark... Rothstein stamped her ticket to the NCAA's at the 2010 Midwestern Collegiate Championships on Feb. 19, charting an A-cut time of 1:05.37 in the 100 breast... Rothstein's time surpassed the A-cut mark of 1:05.39 by just two one-hundredths of a second to post the championship finish...voted the team's Co-Most Improved Swimmer of the Year and Co-Freshman of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2009 graduate of Albany High School…coached by Ann Ressler …five-time letterwinner for the Huskies...All-American consideration...Holds school, conference and section records...All-State and All-Conference...Honor Roll...graduate top ten in high school graduating class.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Rich and Carol Rothstein of Albany, Minn…lists her high school coach Ann Ressler as the person with the greatest influence on her career…Pre-med, Biology major at SCSU.
