The Melissa Funke Story

2010-11: A College Swimming Coaches Association of American Academic All-American Honorable Mention… tabbed national B-cut times in the 100 breast (1:07.30), 400 IM (4:38.79) and 200 breast (2:25.66) during her sophomore season…charted three individuals first place finishes, two of which came in the 200 breast event…swam the squad’s top time in the 400 IM in December…participated in eight events for the Huskies, including the 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast, 50 back, 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM and 400 IM.

2009-10: Funke’s season highlights include 200-Im time of 2:13.43 and a 50-breaststroke time of 0:33.08.

High School: 2009 graduate of Blue Valley Northewst High School...helped her team win a state championship...letterwinner in golf...holds the record for 200 medley relay...former record holder of 100 BR and 200 FR relay...state champion in the 200 free relay...national honor society...Spanish honor society.

Personal: Daughter of Gary and Pat Funke of Overland Park, Kan...coached in high school by Kyle Farrington...lists her mom as the person with the greatest influence on her career.
