The Dayna Nellis Story

2010-11: A College Swimming Coaches Association of American Academic All-American Honorable Mention…a two-time Midwestern Collegiate Conference champion in the 1000 free and 1650 free…tabbed national B-cut times in the 100 fly (:58.75), 200 fly (2:07.25), 1000 free (10:39.22) and 1650 free (17:38.57)…set a new school record in both the 1000 free (10:35.75 on 2/16/11) and 1650 free (17:38.57 on 12/4/10)…competed in seven events for the Huskies, including the 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 free, 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free…recorded the squad’s top time in three distance events during her sophomore stint, including the 1000 free (10:35.75), 1650 free (17:38.57) and 200 fly (2:07.25)…participated in the 800 free relay on Nov. 13…posted 13 individual victories in the Cardinal and Black in 2010-11.

2009-10: Nellis has season highlights including 0:28.63 50-fly and 1:59.07 200-freestyle mark...She broke a school record in the 200-fly with a time of 2:07.50 and set a new pool record with the 200-fly at Minnesota State with a 2:10.77 time.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2009 graduate of Green Bay Preble High School…coached by Teri DeGrand …four-time swimming letter winner…conference record holder in the 400 freestyle relay...holds the YMCA records in the 1,000 free, 1,650 free, 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay, 400 medley real and the 800 free relay...All-Conference swimmer...Conference Champion...a member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Ed and Michele Nellis of Green Bay, Wis…lists her parents as the people with the greatest influence on her career…graphic desing major at SCSU.
