The Robb Rotramel Story
2010-11: Swam a national B-cut time of :46.70 in the 100 free, which led the Husky roster…member of the men’s 200 free relay which tabbed a conference title at the Midwestern Collegiate Championships in February…charted his lone personal first place finish in the 50 free on Oct. 23 at the Minnesota State dual…also participated in the 200 free, 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 400 medley relay.
2009-10: Rotramel’s season highlights include a 0:24.84 50-fly time and a 200-freestyle time of 1:45.57.
2008-09: First year … made an immediate impact becoming one of the Huskies top, and most consistent, performers … competed in 11 meets throughout the season … garnered five Honorable Mention All-American honors at the NCAA championships … anchored the 12th place 200 free relay (1:22.72) … swam the third legs of the 13th place 200 medley relay (1:32.96), the 15th place 800 free relay (6:53.23) and the 16th place 400 medley relay (3:25.84) … swam the second leg of the 15th place 400 free relay (3:03.23) … 400 and 800 free relays and 200 and 400 medley relays are also school records … also set a new SCSU record in the 200 free relay (1:22.03) in prelims at the NCAA’s … twice a winner in the 100 free in 2008-09 … was a member of the Northern Sun Champion 200 free relay (1:23.94) as well as the 400 free relay (3:03.86) that clinched the meet win for the Huskies … individually was Northern Sun runner-up twice with career bests of 46.11 in the 100 free and 1:42.32 in the 200 free … posted a career best of 21.33 in the 50 free as well at the Northern Sun Championships … at the Carthage Invite on Dec. 5, swam on the meet record setting 200 free relay (1:23.83) … posted the four fasted times for the Huskies in the 200 free and four of the six fastest times in the 100 free...named team's Rookie of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a six-time letter winner in the water for Elk River High…was a four-time All-American, twice in the 50 free and twice in the 100 free…was an eight-time All-State selection and four-time team MVP…was team captain for his junior and senior seasons…earned a 2007 MSHSL Excel Award…on the “B” Honor Roll throughout high school.…brother Ryan Rotramel is a former Husky swimmer.
PERSONAL: Son of Thomas and Birdie Rotramel…cites his three brothers Ross, Reid and Ryan as his biggest influences…lists being top 16 in the nation at the 50 free when he was 14 as his biggest sports thrill…enjoys duck hunting, boating, tubing, tennis, fishing and wakeboarding in his spare time…plans a pre-business/finance major with a minor in economics.
