The Megan Cotton Story
2008-09: Junior season…participated in the 50 free, 200 back, 50 breast, 100 breast and 200 IM this year…garnered the team’s fifth best time of the season in the 50 breast, touching the wall in 32.46 on Oct. 18… named a team co-captain for the upcoming 2009-10 season.
2007-08: Sophomore season…named to the NCC Commissioners Academic Honor Roll…grabbed first place honors three times on the season swimming the second leg of the 200 free relay…first on 10/20 (1:51.74), again on 11/10 (1:50.50) as SCSU took first place at the St. John’s/St. Ben’s Fall Invite and for the final time on 12/1 (1:49.58) as the Huskies took top honors in the nine team TYR/Collegeswimming.com Classic…at the same meet swam a season high seven races, setting season bests in the 200 back (2:22.39) and the 800 free relay (8:26.46)…top individual finishes came on 11/17 with a pair of seventh place tallies in the 50 free (26.13) and the 100 breast (1:13.57), each of which were also season highs.
2006-07: First year...saw time at the 50 and 100 free.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2006 graduate of William Horlick High School in Racine, Wisconsin...four-time letter winner in swimming...twice-named Most Valuable...named captain...recipient of three local academic scholarships.
PERSONAL: Parents are Tom and Debbie Cotton of Racine, Wisconsin...majoring in English...high school coach was Joe Kosman.
