The Kyle Cordry Story
2008-09: Junior season … one of the Huskies top freestylers, competing in the 50, 100, 200, and 500 free as well as all relay events … competed in 11 meets throughout the season … national qualifier in the 50 and 100 free, and all five relays … at the NCAA’s placed 34th in the 100 free (45.80) and 43rd in the 50 free (21.04) … also at the NCAA Championships, earned All-America Honorable Mention notice three times for swimming on the 13th place 200 medley relay (1:32.96), 15th place 800 free relay (6:53.23) and the 16th place 400 medley relay (3:25.84) … NCAA marks in the 200 free relay, 800 free relay, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay were also all school records … a winner in four individual races and nine relays on the season … Northern Sun champion in the 100 free swimming a 45.65 for his best time of the year … Northern Sun Champion in the 200 free relay (1:23.94) and the 400 free relay (3:03.83) as well … 21.04 in the 50 free at nationals was best time of the season … against UW-Green Bay on Nov. 14 & 15 set season highs in the 200 free (1:46.68) and the 500 free (5:15.70).
2007-08: Was a four-time All-American Honorable Mention as a part of the 200 free (1:23.70), 400 free (3:05.38), 800 free (6:55.42) and 200 medley (1:37.40) relay teams…a three-time All-NCC award winner in the 100 free, 50 free and 200 free…won the final NCC Championship in the 100 free and set the SCSU school record in the process with a 45.95...also set a SCSU record in the 200 free at the NCAA DII Championships, finishing in 1:41.61…part of two school record-setting relay teams in the 400 free (3:05.38) and 800 free (6:55.42)…won numerous events over the season, taking home 14 individual meets and 13 relay titles.
2006-07: First year...named team’s Co-Freshman of the Year…Swam the 50, 100, 500 free along with the 200 free relay team.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2006 graduate of Las Cruces High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico...four-time letter winner in swimming where he was named captain and two-time MVP. Kyle took second at state meet in the 100 freestyle his senior year.
PERSONAL: Parents are Kent and Shirley Cordry of Las Cruces, New Mexico...high school coach was Terry Moore.
