The Kellyn Craig Story

BEFORE SCSU: Michael and Ellie Craig’s daughter, Kellyn Craig, has signed a letter of intent to attend St. Cloud Sate University in the fall of 2011 and swim for Coach Hegle and the Huskies. A three-sport athlete for Denver South High School, Craig has lettered twice in swimming for the South Rebels as a breaststroker. In her final prep season, Craig finished second at the Colorado State High School Championship Meet in the 100 breast and seventh in the 200 IM. In cross country, Craig was voted her team’s Most Valuable Runner after earning four varsity letters and finishing eighth in the state back in 2007. The prep athlete also tabbed MVP honors in track and field after placing eighth at the State Championships in the mile run.

PERSONAL: For her efforts, Craig has accumulated the IBM Hero of the Week honor, was voted the Female Athlete of the Year at South High School, charted All-City Team accolades four years and landed on the athletic honor roll. Craig, who plans to major in business at SCSU, has served as her high school’s student body president. She also participated in a discussion group with Michelle Obama, is a Gold Honor Roll student, a member of the National Honor Society and Student Board Core Team and tabbed the Colorado High School Activities Association “Hero of the Week” crown.
