The Kelly Vieau Story

2008-09: Junior season…posted All-American status in the 200 free relay at the 2009 NCAA Division II Championships with a fourth place finish in a time of 1:34.18…also tabbed two All-American Honorable Mention accolades in the 400 freestyle relay (9th/3:28.32) and the 800 freestyle relay (16th/7:46.84)…member of the 400 free relay that charted the Northern Sun title, touching the wall in 3:30.02…qualified for nationals in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay and the 200 medley relay…tallied 13 first place finishes during her junior campaign…a member of three relays that tabbed team season best marks…holds the school record in the 200 free relay (1:34.18) and the 400 free relay (3:28.32)…tallied A-Cut qualifying marks in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay and 200 medley relay…garnered B-Cut qualifying marks in the 50 free and 100 free…the 200 free relay squad tabbed a new pool record at MSU Moorhead (Nemzek Pool) on Oct. 18 with a time of 1:40.01…member of the 200 free relay that charted a new pool record at the Carthage meet (Tarble Pool) on Dec. 5…on Jan. 24, the 200 medley relay charted a new pool record at the Carleton meet (Thorpe Pool) with a time of 1:49.57…was a member of the 200 free relay that scored a new meet record of 1:35.81 at the TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic in Kenosha, Wis. …voted Husky of the Year…named a team co-captain for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

2007-08: Named to the NCC Commissioners Academic Honor Roll…became a two-time All-America Honorable Mention at the NCAA Championship meet after her performance on a pair of relay’s…swam the first leg of the 15th place 200 free relay (1:37.95) and the second leg of the 16th place 800 free relay (8:02.01)…also at the NCAA’s swam the third leg of the 18th place 400 free relay (3:35.41) and the anchor of the 20th place 200 medley relay (1:51.53)…400 free relay time was the Huskies best of the season…individually Vieau placed 38th in the 50 free (24.59) at the NCAA Championships, her second best time of the season…earned All-NCC Honorable Mention status with an eighth place tally in the 50 free (24.68)…individually, won five races and on relays brought home 12 victories including at the TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic on 11/3-12/1 where she was a member of the winning 200 free relay (1:36.90), 400 medley relay (4:01.54), and 400 free relay (3:35.79)…200 FR and 400 MR times were season bests…at the same meet also posted personal best times in the 100 free (54.00) placing third and the 50 free (24.55) where she touched the wall second…against Northern Michigan and MSU Moorhead on 10/20 won every raced she entered claiming victories in the 50 free (25.21), the 100 free (55.45) and the 200 free relay (1:40.71)…at the TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic swam the opening leg of the 200 free relay team to a 1:36.90 finish that sent Vieau, Ali Weske, Erin Lannon, and Alisha Blaydes to the National Championship Meet.

2006-07: First year...qualified for NCAA B-Cuts in the 50 free (24.81)...claimed 10th best performance in the NCC in both the 50 and 100 free.

PRIOR TO SCSU : Transfer from North Dakota State University.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2005 graduate of Delano High School...six-time letter winner in swimming...earned All-Conference and All-State...named MVP and Co-Captain...holds the school record for the 100 free and 200 relay...three-time letter winner in softball...named All-Conference and All-State...named to Honor Roll and Dean’s List.

PERSONAL: Parents are Ron and Chris Vieau of Delano, Minnesota... elementary education major...high school coach was Dave Nace...younger sister of former Husky All-American and current coach Jackie Vieau.
