The Katie Brueggemann Story

2009-10: Brueggemann highlighted her season individually with a 0:25.98 50-free time and a 0:32.05 50-breaststroke time...She earned three All-American Honorable Mentions in the 400-free relay, 100-breaststroke and 200-breaststroke, and recorded two pool records (2:27.39/MSUM and 2:28.29/Minnesota State) during her senior stint.

2008-09: Junior season…tallied All-American Honorable Mention status in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.66 and a 16th place finish at the 2009 NCAA Division II Championships…also qualified for the NCAA’s in the 200 breast and 200 IM…was a member of the 400 medley relay that charted All-American HM accolades with a 10th place mark (3:50.44)…tabbed three first place finishes during junior stint…charted the top team times in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM this season…was also a member of the 400 medley relay that had the best school time of 3:49.82 on Mar. 12, which marks a new SCSU school record…individually, participated in the 100 free, 200 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM and 400 IM in 2008-09…named a team co-captain for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

2007-08: Sophomore season…named to the NCC Commissioners Academic Honor Roll…earned All-NCC Honorable Mention after swimming to an eighth place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:29.14) and a 10th place tally in the 400 IM (4:47.81)…200 breast time was the best mark for SCSU last season as was Brueggeman’s time in the 200 IM (2:13.98) which was also set the at the NCC Championships…won five races in 07-08 and swam on three first place relay teams.

2006-07: First year...named team’s first year of the Year...qualified for B-Cuts in the 200 (2:11.01) and 400 IM (4:39.81)...recorded top-20 NCC time in the 200 free (16th).

HIGH SCHOOL: 2006 graduate of Grafton High School in Grafton, Wisconsin...four-time letter winner in swimming...named MVP, Captain, and most dedicated...two-time state placer...member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Mark and Karen Brueggemann...named her dad as the person with the greatest influence on her career...majoring in sports management...high school coach was Steve Schiessl.
