The Jim Schlup Story

2009-10: Schlup’s season highlights include a 1000-freestyle time of 10:46.24 and a 500-freestyle time of 5:09.05.

2008-09: Junior season … Team Captain … competed in nine meets throughout the season … saw most action in the distance free, with limited appearances in the sprint free events … posted best mark of the season in the 1000 free with an 11:02.25 against St. John’s … set his season high in the 500 free with a 5:08.77 on Dec. 5 …season high in the 1650 free came on Feb. 7 and was a mark of 18:01.53.

2007-08: Swam all freestyle races from the 50 meter to 1000…posted two, third place finishes in the 500 free at the St. John’s (5:27.27) and the Carleton (5:16.42) meets…scored a fourth place mark against SJU in the 200 free relay (1:36.82) and against Carleton in 400 free relay (3:31.56).

2006-07: First year...gained valuable experience at the 100, 200 and 500 free…also on the 200 and 400 free relay teams.

HIGH SCHOOL : 2006 graduate of Manhattan High School in Manhattan, Kansas…four-time letter winner in swimming…named three time to the All-League Team…Centennial League Champion in the 500 free.

PERSONAL: Son of John and Jody Schlup of Manhattan, Kansas…favorite sports personality is Jordy Nelson…high school coach was Jerry Carpenter.
