The April Greene Story

2009-10: Greene’s season highlights include a 0:24.60 50-free and a 0:54.14 100-free...She gained All-American Honorable Mention as part of the 400-free relay and 400-medley relay teams.

2008-09: Sophomore season…garnered All-American status in 2009 as a member of the 200 free relay squad that placed fourth at the NCAA Division II Championships…also qualified for nationals in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 back…won nine events during her sophomore stint…member of the SCSU 200 free relay squad that set a new school record on Mar. 12 with a time of 1:34.18…set a new pool record at MSU Moorhead (Nemzek Pool) on Oct. 18, swimming the event in 1:40.01…swam on the 200 free relay that set a new pool record at the Carthage Tarble Pool, swimming the event in 1:35.81…also set a new pool record at Minnesota State’s Nemzek Pool in the 400 free relay (3:41.59)…was also a member of the 200 medley relay that set a new pool record at MSU Moorhead (Nemzek Pool)…the 200 free relay that Greene was a member of posted a new meet record at the TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic on Dec. 5…charted A-Cuts in the 200 free relay, and B-Cuts in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 back this season.

2007-08: First year…earned first career win in first career meet on 10/19 as the second leg of the winning 400 free relay (3:42.44)…a day later on 10/20 got her second win as the second leg of the 200 free relay (1:40.71) helping SCSU to meet victories each day…best individual finish came in a Husky meet win over Carleton on 1/25 with a second place tally in the 50 free (25.91)…at the Minnesota Challenge in the final meet of the season set three career bests in the 100 free (55.57), the 50 free (25.27), and the 100 back (1:04.45), placing seventh, 10th and 20.

HIGH SCHOOL:  2007 graduate of Sun Prairie High School…coached by Nancy Harms…four time letter winner on the swim team where she was a three time All-American…currently the school record holder in the 50 free…also a three year letter winner on the track & field team.

PERSONAL:  Daughter of Stanley and Kelly Greene of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin…lists Ali Weske as the person with the greatest influence on her career…greatest sports thrill came her sophomore year when she took second in state…majoring in occupational therapy with a minor in psychology at SCSU.
