SOFTBALL: St. Cloud State Releases Fall Schedule

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State softball team has released their 2009 fall schedule.
The fall softball season begins with a jam packed weekend September 18-20. The Huskies will host a Spaghetti Team Feed, Friday night (Sept. 19) in St. Cloud at Howie's Sports Bar and Grill. Following the Spaghetti Feed, SCSU will kick off their 2009 fall season with five games on the weekend at their annual fall tournament at Bob Cross Park in Sauk Rapids.
On Friday, Sept. 26, St. Cloud State will head north for a scrimmage against North Dakota State University. The Huskies and Bison will play a doubleheader at Fargo beginning at 12 p.m., as SCSU looks to upend one of the top teams in Division I from last year.
As the Huskies return home, Oct. 3rd will mark the 9th Annual Husky Golf Tournament. Tee times run all day at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell; included in the golf tournament are door prizes, a t-shirt, raffle tickets and a meal. Signup is available via the Husky softball homepage.
Following the golf tournament, the Huskies will host their annual Alumni Game from Historic Selke Field in St. Cloud. The event begins at 12 p.m. with a homerun contest, along with other fun filled events like H-U-S-G-O bingo and a cookout. Two five-inning alumni games are also slated for the
afternoon.
A week later, Husky players and coaches will be on hand for the annual Fundamental and Pitching Clinic at Selke Field. Signups for the annual clinic are available on the SCSU softball page at

Wrapping up the fall schedule for the Huskies, St. Cloud State will travel to Minneapolis for the University of Minnesota Invite on Oct. 17-18. The Huskies will play in four games on the weekend, beginning with the Golden Gophers at 10 a.m. on Saturday the 17th.
