2007 Season: The junior shortstop was named to the 2007 All-North Central Conference Team for the first time in her career after batting .324 and totaling a team-leading 37 RBIs this season... she started in all 58 games for SCSU... had 173 at-bats and was fourth on the team with 56 hits... Gensch was tied for third in the NCC with 14 doubles and was second in the league with 46 runs scored and 20 stolen bases... she charted a season-high four hits against MSU, Moorhead on April 19... the Apple Valley native was also second on the team with six home runs... in the field, Gensch had 94 put outs and 109 assists with a .927 fielding percentage...set a new school individual record with 28 walks in 2007.
2006 Season: Started in all 57 games at the shortstop position....was third on the team with 13 steals (13-of-15)...scored 23 times and recorded 39 hits, eight doubles, one triple, three homeruns and 15 RBIs...recorded her lone triple against Philadelphia University on March 7, 2006...completed season ranking fifth with a .273 batting average and a .406 slugging percentage...charted 104 put outs in the infield and a .931 fielding percentage.
2005 Season: Gensch was a bright spot for the Huskies at shortstop all season...appeared and started in all 59 games...had 177 at bats with 20 runs scored and 45 hits...seven doubles, one triple and one home run in her first year...batted in 16 runs...was a perfect 6-of-6 in the stolen base category...had 96 putouts with 145 assists and a .923 fielding percentage.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Eastview High School...was a two-sport athlete for the Lightening...four-year letterwinner in softball...named Rookie of the year...Best Defensive player recipient...was captain of her high school team...named to the All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention teams during career...coached in softball by Matt Percival...leader in career hits (88), career games played (over 100 in four years)...is in the Top 3 for career RBI's (44), career at bats (294), career runs scored (36), and career doubles and tripples...only had one error her senior year in softball... six-year letterwinner in girls' hockey...named Miss Example twice in high school...Best Defensive player award-winner... All-State Honorable Mention and All-Conference recipient... three-time team captain...named All-Conference Honorable Mention twice in career...leader in career games played and career assists at Eastview H.S. ...describes her greatest sports thrill as winning the 2003 State Softball Championship...claims her softball team was the best team and program that she has ever been a part of.
Personal: Daughter of Rob Gensch of Rosemount, Minn. and Julie Kitchener of Apple Valley, Minn. ... her father has had the most influence on her career...Mario Lemieux and Lis Fernandez are listed as her favorite sports personalities...was awarded the Spotlight on Scholarship Silver Award three times in high school...was named the 2003 Female Student Athlete of the Year at Eastview H.S. ...enjoys rollerblading, being with close friends, and watching movies...is pursuing a Graphic Design major here at SCSU.
