SOCCER: Elizabeth Kelly Named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week

St. Cloud, Minn. - Senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Kelly was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference defensive player of the week for her 1-0 shutout win over Concordia University on Friday.
Kelly made five saves in the game to record her seventh shutout of the season in a 1-0 double overtime win. With the shutout, she is now tied with Alyssa Halverson (1995) for the most shutouts in a single season in school history.
She also helped the Huskies set a school record with its ninth shutout of the season, while adding to her own personal school record with 26 wins.
Kelly has started all 18 games this season for the Huskies and has made 100 saves on the season, while recording 16 shutouts in her career. She currently has a .076 goals against average coming into the first round of NSIC playoffs.
She will be in net as the Huskies take on Bemidji State at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at Husky Stadium.
