SOCCER: SCSU Falls 1-0 at UC-Colorado Springs

The St. Cloud State University soccer team (1-1) evened its season record with a tough 1-0 loss at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday, Sept. 4, in Colorado Springs, Colo. The match was the season opener for UC-CS.
The match was decided in the second half, when UC-CS's Josi Heer scored the game winner at 57:44, with a solo assist from Jennifer Joern.
In the match under the shadow of Pikes Peak, the Huskies were outshot by a 13-4 tally. SCSU netminder Elizabeth Kelly made seven saves for the Huskies. Shots in the match for the Huskies were posted by Lindsey Sather, Chelsey Scheller and two by Jenn Clifford.
SCSU will continue its season on Sept. 6, with a match in Pueblo, Colo. against Colorado State-Pueblo.
