SOCCER: Huskies Run to 2-2 Deadlock at NSU

Aberdeen, S.D. - The St. Cloud State University soccer team completed its road swing through the Dakota's this weekend with a 2-2 tie at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. on Oct. 26.  The Huskies now own a 7-7-2, 5-5-2 NSIC record this fall, while Northern State   moves to 10-6-2, 6-3-2 NSIC.
 
The Huskies will complete their 2008 regular season on Sunday, Nov. 2, with a 1 p.m. home game at scenic Husky Stadium against NSIC rival Concordia-St. Paul.
 
In the match at NSU, the Wolves jumped to a 1-0 lead at 17:53 of the first half with a goal by Kati Bronson.  The single assist on the play was posted by Kailee Hyland.  The Huskies knotted the score at 33:21 with an unassisted goal by freshman forward Krysten Flynn-Wallace (Bismarck, N.D.).  The goal was Flynn-Wallace's team-leading sixth goal of the season.
 
In the second half, Bronson scored at 67:02 to make it 2-1 in favor of NSU.  Assists were carded on the play by Hyland and Kaylee McDonald.  To save the tie, SCSU first year forward Chelsey Permenter (Omaha, Neb.) scored at 86:02 of the second half.  Permenter took advantage of a misplayed ball by NSU goalkeeper Kit Grace to score the first goal of her career.
 
In the game, SCSU outshot Northern State by a 28-14 margin.  Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Kelly (Omaha, Neb.) had seven saves in the match, while Grace added 10 saves for the Wolves.
