2008: First year…saw the field in 12 matches during the season…charted first career goal on four shots in her rookie campaign…saw first collegiate action against Concordia St. Paul on 9/10…scored first collegiate goal on 9/14 as part of the Huskies 7-0 win over Minnesota, Crookston…took one shot against Wayne State…put one shot on goal against Southwest Minnesota…tied a career high with two shots against Minnesota Duluth, landing one on net…landed her one shot on goal on Homecoming against Upper Iowa.
Before SCSU: A 2008 graduate of Manona Grove High school where she was a three sport athlete and 10-time letter winner..coahed by Jeff Vitense on the soccer field, Peterson won four soccer letters and was a two-time All-Conference Team member…as a freshman in 2005 she was named Rookie of the Year and helped take her squad to the state semifinals…a two-time team MVP in 2007 and 2008 where she led her team to the section finals each season…in 2007 led her team in goals and in 2008 led in assists…on the links she won four golf letters while being a four-time MVP, three-time captain, a three-time sectional qualifier and earned first team All-Conference honors as well…also garnered two letters in basketball.
Personal: Daughter of John and Sue Peterson of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin…lists Rachel Vitense as the person with the greatest influence on her career and beating high school rival Madison LaFollette in the last three minutes of the game in to pouring rain as her greatest sports thrill…enjoys golfing in her free time…marketing major at SCSU.
