Swenson started school at Minnesota-Duluth, where they do not have a Nordic ski team.

2007
Swenson skied season bests in the 5K (23:11-87th) and the 10K (41:19-70th) at the Itasca NorAm Super Tour. She gained a 59th place finish in the 5K at the Central Region Championships and  58th in the 10K. She also took 14th in the Minnesota All College-University Championships with teammate Katelyn Prow.

Swenson is a 2004 graduate of Monticello H.S where she won five letters apiece for the cross country and Nordic ski teams, while earning All-Conference honors in skiing. In the classroom she was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with honors. She is the daughter of Bryan and Julie Swenson and is a radiology technology major at  SCSU.
