2010-11: Appeared in 34 games during her first collegiate season…garnered first career goal/point at Minnesota State on Nov. 6…her first career assist came against Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 3…totaled five points (2g, 3a) in 2010-11…fired off a season-high five shots against Minnesota State on Feb. 11, the Huskies lone win of the season…6/12 PIM.

2009-10: Garnered first career point against Bemidji State on Jan. 29 with an assist in a big 3-2 victory in the National Hockey Center…appeared in 31 games in 2009-10…led the squad with a PIM of 0-0…plus/minus was -6…fired off 16 shots.

Before SCSU: A multi-sport athlete at St. Francis High School, Schmid excelled in hockey, soccer, weight lifting and track and field for the Fighting Saints…named the St. Francis High School Senior Athlete of the Year in 2009...coached by Joe Fredrickson, Schmid scored 125 goals and 97 assists (222 points) as a prep athlete…a two-time team MVP and team captain, Schmid charted All-North Suburban Conference and All-State Honorable Mention status during her prep career…named the Minnesota Prep Athlete of the Week in January of 2008… All-Conference Honorable Mention squad twice in soccer...Schmid totaled three varsity letters in soccer…she also tallied three letters in weight lifting and one letter in track and field...a Hobey Baker Character award winner.

Personal: An academic letterwinner and a participant in DECCA and her school’s Link program, Haylea is the daughter of Tony and Kathy Schmid and a native of Oak Grove.
