2010-11: Dressed for 33 games during her first collegiate season…tabbed first career tally on Dec. 3 with an assist against Minnesota Duluth…posted four points (1g, 3a) in 2010-11…charted first career goal against Ohio State on Jan. 29 in the National Hockey Center…21/42 PIM…-29 on plus/minus…fired off a season-high six shots on net against North Dakota on Jan. 21.
Before SCSU:From London, Ontario, where she was coached by Rick Sullivan on the Bluewater Junior Hawks hockey team. The blue-liner was named the Saunders Secondary High School Most Valuable Player. She totaled 7 goals and 19 assists in 42 games played as a senior in the Provincial Women’s Hockey League. Burke was also an alternate captain on her Saunders Secondary High School squad. An all-around strong athlete, Burke was a four-year letterwinner in track where she won a high school Provincial Championship.
Personal:The daughter of Ron and Charlene Burke, Michelle earned her high school’s Female Athlete of the Year honors and was also a Spectra Athletic Award Nominee. A 2010 Provincial silver medalist, Burke plans to major in mass communications at St. Cloud State.
