2008-09: Finished as team’s leading scorer with 34 points on 17 goals and assists…also led team in game-winning goals (5), plus/minus (+12) and unassisted goals (2)… had back-to-back two goal games against Minnesota Duluth on Jan. 31 and Minnesota State on Feb. 6…recorded eight multi-point games, including three in a row which included the Minnesota Duluth series on Jan. 30 and 31 and against Minnesota State on Feb. 6… had streak of 11 games out of 12 with at least one point from Jan. 9 to Feb. 14…opened season with six point series at Quinnipiac (2-4-6)…had goal and assist against Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 18…notched goal and assist over Ohio State on Nov. 9…next two point effort came against same OSU squad with goal and assist on Jan. 17…played in all 37 games, posting three power play goals……went 19/46 in PIM, firing off 116 shots.
2007-08: Played in 37 games… tied for team lead in game-winning goals with (3)…scored 17 points on 7 goals and 10 assists…was tied for fifth on the team in scoring and was fifth in total goals…scored all but one of her points in conference games…was called for 16 penalties, serving 43 minutes in the box…-2 on the +/-.
2006-07: McCarthy played in 34 games during her sophomore campaign...had a season high 18 points (4g, 14a)...13/37 PIM...totaled 81 shots on the season.
2005-2006: Bright spot for the Huskies her freshman season...scored eight goals and four assists...scored first career goal at Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 14, 2005...collected her first career assist against North Dakota on Jan. 22, 2006...tallied four power play goals...had lowest PIM on team with 2-4...appeared in 27 games for SCSU...named Team Rookie of the Year.
PRIOR TO SCSU: A two-sport athlete and 2005 graduate of Eden Prairie HS... four-time letterwinner in hockey... named Rookie of the Year...team MVP... team Offensive MVP...Athena Award winner...named to the All-Conference, All-State and All-State Tournament team during her prep career...helped lead her team win the Section Championship and Conference Championship...lettered once in Lacrosse...says her greatest sports thrill was ending South St. Paul’s 87-game winning streak in the State Tournament.
PERSONAL: Born on 6/28/87...daughter of Pat and Therese McCarthy of Eden Prairie, MN...coached by Tim Morris in high school...majoring in sports management and recreation.
