Easton Holiday Showcase Information

EASTON HOLIDAY SHOWCASE: The St. Cloud State Huskies entertained three nationally ranked opponents in league rival #2 Wisconsin, #4/5 Mercyhurst College and #10 Northeastern during the 2011 Easton Holiday Showcase on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 1-2, at the National Hockey Center.

On Saturday, #2 Wisconsin blew by #10 Northeastern by a score of 7-2. The following game, #4/5 Mercyhurst cruised past the home team, St. Cloud State, by a score of 8-1.

The second day of the Showcase featured a face-off between #2 Wisconsin and #4/5 Mercyhurst. The game proved to be a thrilling match as the Badgers were able to pull away in the end, garnering a 7-4 non-conference victory over the Lakers.

St. Cloud State completed the 2011 Showcase with a heart-breaking 1-2 loss to #10 Northeastern. St. Cloud State arguably played its best game of the season, out-shooting the NU Huskies 40-28 and holding Northeastern to just 1-of-4 on the power play. Rookie forward Molli Mott (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored the lone goal of the contest for the SCSU Huskies while senior netminder Ashley Nixon (Blaine) backstopped St. Cloud State with 39 saves in net.
