PLAYER INFORMATION

2009-10: A 2010 All-WCHA Academic team award recipient...played in 35 games during his junior season for the Huskies - including all postseason play in 2010...charted four goals and one assist...Volpei’s SHG vs. Colorado College on Dec. 11, helped Huskies gain a 4-4 tie against the Tigers...scored goal in team’s first game of the season on Oct. 9 at Miami...also had goals against Michigan Tech and Wisconsin.

2008-09: Volpei played in 30 games for the Huskies during his sophomore season...finished the year with ten points (2g/8a)..charted two multi-point games on the season, both against Robert Morris on Nov. 7 & 8...finished the season +5... earned WCHA Scholar-Athlete and All-WCHA Academic honors in 2008-09

2007-08:  Volpei skated in 29 games for the Huskies as a freshman...scored his first collegiate goal on Nov. 9, at Michigan Tech...added assists against Harvard, Wisconsin and Minnesota State in 2007-08...saw ice time in NCAA regional game against Clarkson...wore number 18 as a freshman at SCSU.

Prior to SCSU:  A 2006 graduate of Shattuck-St. Mary’s, where he played for coach Tom Ward...gained four letters at Shattuck-St. Mary’s in hockey...also lettered in tennis and lacrosse...posted 34 goals and 50 assists during 2005-06 season at Shattuck-St, Mary’s...helped team win Bantam AAA nationals...played during 2006-07 season with Salmon Arm of the BCHL, where he scored 31 goals and 42 assists.

Personal:  Born July 22, 1988...parents are Jon Volpei of Saugus, Calif. and Karen Volpei of Burbank, Calif...finance major at SCSU...honor roll student in high school...enjoys guitar, piano and skiing.
