2006-07: O’Brien played important reserve role at goaltender
for the Huskies in 2006-07.
Prior to SCSU: A 2004 graduate of Lakeville
High School, where he played for coach Randy Schmidt and goalie coach Pete
Boelter...two-time letterwinner in hockey at Lakeville...named All-Conference,
All-Metro, All-State and selected to All-State Tournament team...set school
record with 78 saves in section championship game that resulted in five OT and a
3-2 win for Lakeville...led team to two MSHSL state tournament
appearances...played during 2004-05 season with the Indiana Ice (USHL)...played
during 2005-06 season with Fargo-Moorhead Jets (NAHL)...charted 27-14-3 record
with a 2.16 GAA and a 92.8 percent save rate...also gained one varsity letter in
baseball at Lakeville...All-Conference award winner in
baseball.
