MEN'S GOLF: Huskies Tie for Fourth at Shortened Twin Cities Classic

Ramsey, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State men's golf team tied for fourth at the Twin Cities Classic played today at The Links at Northfork in Ramsey. The Classic was scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Due to the weather it was shortened to today's 18-hole round.
The Huskies posted a team score of 294 just five strokes back of the team champion, St. John's University. The Johnnies posted a 289 today.
St. Cloud State first year golfer Gordy Diekman (Alexandria) was one of seven players to fire a two under par 70 (34-36) and tie for the lead.
First year player Billy Barnhart (Cottage Grove) tied for 20th place after shooting a 74 (36-38). Sophomore Beau Anderson (Cottage Grove) and senior Mike Callahan (Hastings) finished in a tie for 36th place after shooting identical rounds of 38-37 for a three over par 75. Senior Evan Peters (Glenwood) rounded out the Husky squad. He finished tied for 66th place after shooting a 78 (39-39).
The Classic was the final competition of the Huskies fall schedule.
