NSIC Golf Championships (rd 1&2): SCSU-2nd
MEN'S GOLF: St. Cloud State Second After Two Rounds of the NSIC Championship

Hastings, Minn. -- Through two rounds of the 2009-10 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) men's golf championship, St. Cloud State finds themselves in second place. The Huskies trail Minnesota State University, Mankato by 20 strokes in a championship format that features a total of five rounds with the next three to be played in the spring.
St. Cloud State shot team scores of 300-311 in the first two rounds. First year golfer Billy Barnhart (Cottage Grove) is in fourth place in the individual standings. He first rounds of 69-79 for a two-round total of 148, and is four strokes behind the individual leader, Kyle Bahe of Minnesota State who shot even par 72-72-144.
The other Husky golfers include senior Evan Peters (Glenwood) who is tied for seventh place after rounds of 74-76-150. Sophomore Jordan Dickey (Faribault) improved his score by four strokes in the second round and is in 16th place with scores of 79-75-154. Sophomore Beau Anderson (Cottage Grove) is in 27th place after rounds of 78-82-160, and junior Alex Dawald (Ortonville) is in 33rd place after shooting 82-81-163.
The final three rounds of the NSIC championships will be played at The Jewel Golf Course in Lake City next spring.
The Huskies will finish out the fall season at the Twin Cities Classic Oct. 10-13. The Classic will consist of three rounds to be played at Elk River Golf Club, The Links at Norfork, and the Wayzata Golf Club.
