MEN'S GOLF: Barnhart Leads NSIC After First Round, Huskies Second

Hastings, Minn. -- St. Cloud State first year golfer Billy Barnhart (Cottage Grove) shot a three-under par 69 and holds a three-stroke lead following the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Golf Championship being played at the Hastings Country Club.
As a team, the Huskies are in second place, just nine shots behind Minnesota State University. St. Cloud State carded a team score of 300. Four players are tied for second after shooting even par rounds.
Senior Evan Peters (Glenwood) is tied for ninth after shooting a 74 today. Sophomore Beau Anderson (Cottage Grove) is tied for 21st after shooting a 78. Sophomore Jordan Dickey (Faribault) shot a 79 and is tied for 26th. Junior Alex Dawald (Ortonville) rounded out the Husky scoring with an 82 and is tied for 33rd place.
This is the first of two rounds of the NSIC Championship to played in the fall. Three more rounds will be played in the spring at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn. The team and individual champions will be determined at the completion of the five rounds.
The golfers will return to the course for a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start on Monday.
