MEN'S GOLF: St. Cloud State to Host SCSU Husky Classic, Sept. 20-21

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State men's golf team will host the SCSU Husky Classic on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 20-21 at the St. Cloud Country Club. The field of 11 teams from the upper midwest will begin first round competition at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The second round will get underway at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Joining St. Cloud State in the tournament field will be teams from Augustana College, Bemidji State, Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota, Crookston, Minnesota-Morris, Minnesota State University, Mankato, Northern State, Upper Iowa University, Wayne State, and Winona State.
The Huskies are coming off a fourth place finish at the Bemidji State Invitational. First year players Billy Barnhart (Cottage Grove) and Charlie West (Victoria) were co-leaders after the first round of the Invite. Barnhart went on to finish in third place with a four-under par score of 140 (68-72). West tied for tenth with a two over par 142 (68-78). It was the first collegiate competition for both players.
St. Cloud State had a total of six players finish in the top 20 individually of the tournament.
