MEN'S GOLF: Means Gets Ace in Huskies Dual With St. John's

St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Cloud State sophomore Mitch Means (Brainerd) aced the 11th hole to highlight the Huskies dual meet with St. John’s University Monday afternoon at The Territory Golf Club in St. Cloud. Means aced the 177-yard hole with a seven iron to card his first ever hole in one. The Huskies fell short of St. John’s by two strokes as the Johnnies carded a team score of 302 to the Huskies 304.
Means wasn’t the only player to get a hole in one as St. John’s Jamie Krula aced the 198 yard eighth hole with a five iron.
St. Cloud State first year player Beau Anderson (Cottage Grove) was the medalist as he shot a one under par 71 (35-36). Tony Krogen and Joey Polingo of St. John’s tied for second place with a pair of 73’s.
Senior Jake Zilkoski (St. Cloud) of the Huskies tied for sixth in scoring after carding a 38-39 for a 77. Three Huskies tied for eighth place after carding rounds of 78. Sophomore Alex Dawald (Ortonville) shot a 39-39, first year Tim Dreier (New London) shot a 38-40, and sophomore Justin Nelson (Lakeville) carded a 39-39.
Junior Mike Callahan (Hastings) and first year Dustin Delmonico (Lakeville) tied for 14th with a score of 80. Callahan went 40-40 while Delmonico shot 35-45. First year Jordan Dickey (Faribault) tied for 16th place with a 40-41-81 and Means tied for 18th with a round of 44-38. Junior Evan Peters (Glenwood) placed 20th with a score of 38-47-85.
