CROSS COUNTRY: St. Cloud State Weekly Notes - Homecoming Week

THIS WEEK’S ACTION: The St. Cloud State men's and women's cross country teams have added the Pine Hill Invitational to their schedule on Saturday, Oct. 10, in Carlton, Minn. Minnesota Duluth will be hosting the event. The women's race is scheduled for 10 am, with the men's race to follow at 10:45 am at the Pine Hill Golf Course.

SCSU WOMEN: Junior Paula Marozas (Andover) led the Husky women’s cross country squad at its last meet on Sept. 26, crossing the finish line at 23:53.34, which marked her best race ever at the Roy Griak Invite. At the Huskies season debut race on Sept. 19 at St. Olaf, first year Stacy Kern (Osakis) was the first Husky to cross the finish line in eighth place (23:17). Marozas finished the St. Olaf Invite with the same time as Kern (23:17), marking Marozas’ personal best time in a Husky uniform.
HUSKY MEN: Hady Cherif (Minneapolis) and Kyle Neumann (Andover) have led the Husky men’s cross country team the past two meets. On Sept. 19, junior Cherif completed the St. Olaf Invite in sixth place (26:13), which marked a new personal record for Cherif, while Neumann tabbed 12th place honors at the Roy Griak Invite, running the race in 26:20, also marking a new personal record for Neumann.
THE BEST IN RECENT HISTORY: Both the St. Cloud State men's and women's teams finished in seventh place at the Roy Griak Invite on Sept. 26, making it their best finishes in recent history. Last season, the SCSU men finished in 16th place, while the Husky women finished in 21st place.
AT THE HELM: Seth Mischke is in his 11th season as head coach of the St. Cloud State men’s and women’s cross country program. He is assisted by Mohamed Aden and Travis Hoover in 2009.
