WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Huskies Rank Second in NCAA DII Attendance

St. Cloud, Minn. -- A new coach, a new conference, and the St. Cloud State University women's basketball team packed the house in 2008-09. The NCAA released its women's basketball attendance figures for the season and the Huskies are ranked second in NCAA Division II behind conference member Northern State University.
St. Cloud State had 40,263 fans attend 13 home games for an average of 3,097. Northern State led all of NCAA Division II women's basketball with an average attendance of 3,400. The only other schools to finish above 2,000 fans per game in Division II were Washburn, Emporia State, and North Dakota.
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) ranked second in conference attendance at the Division II level. NSIC schools overall averaged 1,045 fans per game. The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) led Division II in attendance with 1,290 fans per game.
St. Cloud State posted a 22-9 overall record in its first season as a member of the NSIC and first year under head coach Lori Fish. The Huskies claimed the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament championship title and advanced to the NCAA Central Region Tournament.
