Hot Shooting Earns Huskies a 103-62 Win Over Dakota State

Mankato, Minn. -- St. Cloud State shot a whopping 71.9 percent from the field in the first half and went on to post a 103-62 non-conference win over Dakota State Univeristy Saturday afternoon in the Minnesota State University, Mankato Pepsi Tip-Off at Bresnan Arena.

St. Cloud State won its third straight game and is 3-0 while Dakota State is 2-5 this season.

St. Cloud State senior guard Krystal Scott (Rosemount) scored the first basket of the game and the Huskies never looked back as SCSU led 55-25 at the intermisson. St. Cloud State finished the game shooting 67.7 percent from the field.

The Huskies had five players finish the game in double figure scoring including four starters. Senior guard Katie Tacheny (Woodbury) led all players with a career high 21 points. She also had five assists and five steals. She made seven of ten field goals in the game.

First year forward Aaryn Booker (Minneapolis) and Scott made seven of eight field goals in the contest and Booker finished with her collegiate high 16 points while Scott scored 14 points which equals her career high. Booker also had six rebounds.

Sophomore Talisha Barlow (Little Canada) was six of seven from the field and finished with 14 points and five assists. Sophomore post Rachel Booth (Minneapolis) was five of six from the field and tallied 12 points and two blocked shots. Junior guard Megan Foley (St. Cloud) had a team high seven rebounds, all on the defensive boards, and equaled her career high.

Dakota State was led by Kristen Roles with 12 points and Dayna Tschakert with 11 points. Roles and Tricia Boldt each had seven rebounds. Dakota State committed 27 turnovers in the game and shot 38.8 percent from the field.
