Radisson Suite St. Cloud Hoopster Classic to Open 2009-10 Season for St. Cloud State Men's Basketball

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The 2009-10 St. Cloud State men's basketball schedule has been released and it features 15 home games and the Radisson Suite St. Cloud Hoopster Classic which will open the season on Nov. 20.
The Huskies will open the season on Friday, Nov. 20 against crosstown rival St. John's University in the second game of the Radisson Suite St. Cloud Hoopster Classic at 8:00 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall. On Nov. 21, St. Cloud State will play Michigan Tech at 8:00 p.m. to cap the Classic.
St. Cloud State will also participate in the 2009 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Holiday Hoopsfest Nov. 28 and 29 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Huskies will play the University of Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Augustana College at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
A 20-game NSIC schedule awaits the Huskies in 2009-10. St. Cloud State will open conference play on December 4 as host to Winona State University at 8:00 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall.
St. Cloud State posted a 22-9 overall record last season and finished in a third place tie in its first season in the NSIC with a 14-6 record. The Huskies won the 2009 Sanford Health/NSIC Tournament and automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament, losing a heartbreaker, 73-72 to Augustana College.
Head coach Kevin Schlagel is preparing for his 13th season at the helm of the Husky program. Schlagel and his coaching staff will return ten players including four starters in 2009-10.
