2009-10: St. Cloud State’s fastest player and defensive specialist in 2009-10…played in 34 games (418 minutes)...finished the season fourth on the team with 34 steals...was third on the team in shooting 49.5 percent from the field (45-of-91)…grabbed 42 rebounds to average 1.2 per game…dished out 27 assists…scored 99 points to average 2.9 per contest…tied a game-high with 14 points and had four steals vs. Michigan Tech Nov. 21...grabbed a career-high five rebounds vs. Judson University, Dec. 16...dished out a career high four assists vs. Minnesota State,
Jan. 16...started the second half for the first time all season and scored six points, grabbed five rebounds, to go with four steals and two assists in the second round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament vs. Minnesota State, March 14...turned a steal into a lay-up to ice the victory against Metro State in the first round of the Central Region Tournament, March 13...was 4-for-5 from the field in the Elite Eight game vs. Midwestern State University, March 24.
Before SCSU: Played one season for Shawnee Community College…was named playmaker of the year…an All-Academic team member.
High School: 2005 graduate of Holy Angels High School…coached by Jesse Foley…gained four total letters in high school in basketball and track & field…an All-State player as a senior…a two-time team MVP…averaged 11.5 points and four assists a game as a senior.
Personal: Son of Terry and Desiree Phillips of Rosemount, Minn…lists his father as the person with the greatest influence on his athletic career…lists hitting the game winning shot to send his team to the state tournament as a junior as his greatest sports thrill…majoring in recreation and sports management at St. Cloud.
