2009-10: Played the two-guard for the majority of his junior season…played in 35 games...started 23 games...played 858 total minutes…made 27-of-81 three-point shots…shot 44 percent from the field (84-of-191)…was second on the team with an 81.4 percent season at the free throw line (48-of-59)…finished second on the team with 67 assists and second with 38 steals…averaged 6.9 points a game with 243 total points on the season…averaged 2.7 rebounds a game…blocked first shot of season vs. Winona State, Dec. 4...recorded a season-high two steals vs. UMC, Dec. 12...set a career-high with two blocks vs. Judson University, Dec. 16...tied a season-high four assists vs. Cardinal Stritch, Dec. 17 and BSU, Feb. 6...tied caree- high with four steals vs. Concordia University, Jan. 2...made a season-high three field goals from beyond the arc vs. U-Mary, Jan. 22...tied career high with four steals vs. NSU, Jan. 23...played 39 minutes vs. SMSU, Feb. 12...scored 15 points and grabbed a career high six rebounds against No. 4 MSU, Feb. 13...scored a season high 19 points vs. CSP, Feb. 24...tied career high with six rebounds vs. SMSU, Feb. 7...was 4-for-5 from the three point line vs. MSU, Feb. 14...named to the All-NCAA Central Regional tournament team.
2008-09: Sophomore season…played in all 31 games while starting 13…one of six players to appear in every game…played 544 minutes for 17.5 minutes per game…one of seven players to log over 500 minutes on the floor…earned first career start in the season opener on Nov. 15 and handed out a career high six assists…fifth leading scoring at 6.4 points per game…fourth in assists with 49 (1.6 apg)…finished with 56 rebounds (1.8 rpg), 29 steals (0.9 spg) and three blocks (0.1 bpg)…third among regulars at the free throw line at .810 (51-of-63)…third on the team with 51 free throws made…also shot .356 (63-of-177) from the field and .247 (22-of-89) from three-point
range…played a team season high 42 minutes and scored a career high 30 points Dec. 5 to open the conference season, making a career high eight field goals including a career high five three-pointers…also grabbed a career high five rebounds and career high four steals in the same game…one of two Huskies, and only 12 from the NSIC to score 30 points in a game this season…scored in double figures in eight games…led the Huskies in scoring in two games…scored 15 points in the NSIC tournament quarterfinal on Mar. 4, and added 14 in the championship game win on Mar. 8.
2007-08: First year...appeared in 20 games, playing 7.5 minutes/game...finishes with 2.6 points/game, 0.7 rebounds/game, seven assists, and six steals...shot .358 (19-53) from the floor including.265 (9-34) from the three-point line making nine threes on the season...had career game against the University of Sioux Falls on 1/2 scoring 13 points on 4-8 shooting and 3-7 three-point shooting while playing 22 minutes, all career highs...grabbed career high four rebounds on 11/23 in 89-68 win over Montana State-Billings...handed out career high two assists in first career game, season opening 86-61 home win over Bemidji State on 11/16.
Prior to SCSU: 2007 graduate of Buffalo High School where he was a four-year basketball letterwinner...his 2007 team won the Minnesota State Class 4A Championship with a 67-65 victory over Robbinsdale-Armstrong...three-time All-North Suburban Conference team pick and two-year team captain...named to the 2007 State Championship All-Tournament team...was the Buffalo team MVP and an Associated Press Honorable Mention pick...he also played in the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association All-Star series...averaged 19.0 points per game as a senior and made 99 three-point baskets...holds the Buffalo career record for points with over 1,400 and three-point basket career record with over 240 made three’s on 41 percent shooting...led the team in scoring in each of the last three seasons...lettered twice in football and earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors...two-year baseball letterwinner.
Personal: Born April 20, 1989...High School Honor Roll student and member of the student council...son of Ellie and Tim Ortmann of Buffalo...majoring in physical education with a minor in developmental adaptive physical education.
