2008-09: Senior season … team captain … made the win clinching free throws in the NSIC Tournament championship game … nailed three free throws in the final 10 seconds to seal the win … played in 118 career games which is tied with three others (Rudoll ’90, Kron ’03, Dreas ’08) for fifth all-time in SCSU men’s basketball history … in his career played on three NCAA Tournament teams, two teams that advanced to the Conference Tournament Championship game, and one Conference Tournament championship team … one of just 10 players in team history to play on three NCAA tournament teams joining Travis Adams (99-03), Jason Kron (99-03), Terry Kuechle (84-88), Eric Lind (85-89), Kent Lind (85-89), Reggie Perkins (84-88), Cullen Powers (99-03), Todd Spaulding (84-88) and Forrest Witt (98-03) … recorded first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds on Jan. 17 leading SCSU to the upset of #9 ranked Minnesota State … tallied his second double-double of the season on Feb. 25 with 21 points and 14 rebounds … one of just 18 players from the NSIC with multiple double-doubles … played in all 31 games with eight starts … one of only six players to appear in each game … played 573 minutes and 18.5 minutes per game, both career highs … one of seven players to log over 500 minutes … scored 5.9 points per game with 4.4 rebounds per game … third on the team in rebounds … finished with 29 assists (0.9 apg), 10 blocks (0.3 bpg), and eight steals (0.3 spg) … closed the season shooting .439 (69-of-157) from the field, .263 (5-of-19) from three-point range and .702 (40-of-57) from the free throw line … other career highs included assists, field goals made and attempted, three-pointers made and attempted, and free throws made and attempted … in conference games only, ranked 14th in the NSIC in offensive rebounds (1.70 orpg) … 14 rebounds on Feb. 25 stands tied with two others as the second best performance by a Husky this season … 14 boards was a career high, as was his 21 points in the game as he led the Huskies in both categories … led SCSU in rebounds in four games … scored in double figures five times and tallied double-digit rebounds four times … as the Huskies won six straight games to close the regular season and win the NSIC Tournament, he averaged 10.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game … one of two current Huskies to appear in each of the last two championship games (Bartz).
2007-08: Junior season…played in 26 games earning three starts...averaged 12.7 minutes/game, 4.0 points/game, 2.5 rebounds/game, and recorded 12 assists, seven blocks and eight steals...shot .362 (38-105) from the field, 5-15 (.333) from three-point range, and .629 (23-35) from the free throw line...scored season high 10 points on the strength of 4-8 shooting and 2-3 three-point shooting on 3/1 in regular season finale, 74-83 road loss to South Dakota...on five occasions finished game perfect from the free throw line including 4-4 tally on 2/23 in 68-86 road loss to Augustana.
2006-07: Coenen recorded career highs in scoring (14) and rebounds with nine this season... played in all 30 games and made eight starts...is a .471 career shooter from the field
2005-06: Coenen played in all 31 games this season and made seven starts for the Huskies...averaged 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds... scored a season and career high 12 points twice during the season, including 12 against Colorado State, Pueblo on Dec. 29... tallied a career high eight rebounds against Upper Iowa on Feb. 20...in his collegiate debut on Nov. 15, he scored six points and had seven rebounds.
High School: 2005 graduate of Kaukauna (Wi) High School...three-year letterwinner in both basketball and volleyball...two-time first team All-Conference in basketball...Honorable Mention All-State in basketball...first-team All-Area and Wisconsin Basketball Association All-Star game participant...average 14 points and seven rebounds his senior season...ranks seventh in all-time school scoring, posted most wins in career as a player, scored a career high 37 points in a game...two-time All-Conference in volleyball.
