BASEBALL: Red/Black Fall World Series Teams Announced, Teams Set to Begin Play

Head baseball coach Pat Dolan will have an opportunity to scout his talent for the upcoming season, as the red/black world series is coached by the assistant coaching staff.

St. Cloud, Minn. -  Team rosters for the SCSU Red/Black Fall World Series have been announced by the Husky baseball coaching staff.

Game number one of the series was played Wednesday afternoon at the Apollo Baseball Complex.  Games two and three will take place Friday afternoon starting at 5:30 at Whitney Field. The remaining games of the series will be announced at a later date.

“The fall series is really the highlight of our fall baseball season.  It’s also provides the players opportunities to earn the starting positions and other important roles on the team.  It’s one thing to be a solid practice player, but we look for result orientated performers in game like situations.  And the intersquad scrimmages provide just that,” said SCSU head coach Pat Dolan.

Assistant coaches Pete Pratt, Adam Kampsen, Derick Snell and Dean Jaacks will lead the Husky Red team, while assistant coaches Ken Picha, Luke MacLean, Chris Koenig and Mike Bell will manage the Husky Black team.

“It really is great time for not only our players, but also our coaching staff," remarked Dolan. "We let them coach the teams and I just sit in the stands and evaluate.  If the players are half as excited as the coaching staff was at the player draft meeting it should be an exciting series.”
