The St. Cloud State baseball team will be well-represented at the 2009 Minnesota Amateur Baseball tournaments , as several current and recent SCSU players are participating this summer with their local amateur teams.
SCSU players listed on the roster for Cold Spring include Tyler Horning, Brian Hansen, Lucas Vossen and 2009 grad Chris Butala. Representing the Huskies on the St. Cloud Snappers' tournament roster are Tim Scott, Kyle Gold, Nate Laudenbach, Dave Koenig, Logan Birr and 2009 grad Chris Koenig.
The St. Cloud Ice roster will feature David Deminsky, who was drafted from Sartell and pitched for much of the summer with the St. Cloud Riverbats of the Northwoods League. Of note, Deminsky earned NWL All-Star honors for his work with the Riverbats this summer.
The Sauk Rapids team will feature Nick Anderson and Travis Cariveau, while Loretto's team will include Huskies Kent Koch, Joe Althoff and Tyler Maher. The SCSU influence will also be seen on the Austin squad at the tournament thanks to the play of Pat Wolard and recent Husky grads Nate Johnson and Joe Kroc. To complete the tournament scene, Pat DeLaHunt will be pitching for the Elko squad. He is a draftee from Apple Valley.
